Games are often considered a man’s domain, with men the creators behind many of the top games. But, this is far from the case. Many top games are written, designed and made by women. And we’re not just talking app games, but those available across multiple platforms such as those Pley can help create.

Child of Light

Top of the list, Child of Light is about a princess who is thought to have died in her sleep. When she wakes in Lemuria, she discovers she needs to find her way home by using the mirror stolen by the Queen of the Night. It’s an exciting role-playing game where players have to take on missions to return home. Impressively, the two main designers behind this game were both women — Melissa Cazzar and Aurelie Debant. Furthermore, this was their first published game.

Tomb Raider

Another game with a popular female protagonist, Tomb Raider has been around in many iterations including various video games and movies. However, Tomb Raider underwent a reboot in 2013 to a lot of critical acclaim. The person behind the reboot was a woman. In fact, lead writer Rhianna Pratchett was responsible for taking Lara Croft to a whole new level, not only in design but in character too.
